Susan H. Bradley
Susan Hinckley Bradley (1851–1929) was an American watercolorist from Boston known for her sensitive landscapes and portraits. Trained at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, she studied under William Merritt Chase, Abbott Thayer, and John Henry Twachtman. A founding member of the Boston Water Color Club and later the Philadelphia Water Color Club, Bradley exhibited widely, including at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Her work reflects both technical refinement and a quiet lyricism that situates her among the most accomplished women artists of her generation.
