Pierre Bonnard
Born in Fontenay-aux-Roses, Hauts-de-Seine, France in 1867, Pierre Bonnard was a painter, illustrator, and printmaker known for his bold use of color and the stylized decorative qualities of his paintings. Notably, he was a founding member of the avante-garde Post-Impressionist group Les Nabis. Bonnard is known as a leading figure in the transition from Impressionism to Modernism. He commonly depicted landscapes, urban scenes, portraits, and intimate domestic scenes.
