Lovering Hathaway (1898-1949)


Lovering Hathaway (1898–1949) was a Massachusetts-based watercolorist known for his serene landscapes of New England, particularly scenes from New Hampshire and Maine. He studied at Harvard and the Museum School in Boston, and exhibited at the Guild of Boston Artists, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Though his career was brief, his delicate and atmospheric work remains admired in regional collections. Hathaway's life ended tragically in 1949 when he was found dead near Dover, Massachusetts.
