George Davidson (1889–1965) was an American painter and muralist whose career encompassed landscape, portraiture, and large-scale decorative painting. Born in Butka, Poland, Davidson immigrated to the United States and settled in Waterbury, Connecticut. He studied at the National Academy of Design in New York and later at the American Academy in Rome, where he received a scholarship. Davidson subsequently taught painting at Cooper Union and mural painting at the Yale School of Fine Arts, while exhibiting his work nationally. His career included both easel painting and mural commissions, with landscape remaining an important part of his artistic output.
