Bernard Lamotte
Bernard Lamotte (1903–1983) was a French-born American painter and illustrator. Trained in Paris, he later settled in New York, where he built his career and exhibited widely. During World War II, he served in the French Army and later worked with Allied forces. He is known for expressive cityscapes, interiors, and scenes of everyday life, as well as illustration work for publications and theater. His work is recognized for loose brushwork, vibrant color, and a modern, observational style.
