Vernon Howe Bailey


Vernon Howe Bailey (1874–1953) was an American artist renowned for his detailed urban scenes and architectural renderings. Born in Camden, New Jersey, he began his art studies at the Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Bailey's early career included illustration work for publications such as Scribner's and Harper's, and he contributed to the New York Sun. His artistic focus encompassed cityscapes, naval subjects, and architectural drawings, often capturing the essence of urban life in the early 20th century. Bailey's work is held in various collections, including the Detroit Historical Society and the New York Public Library Digital Collections.
