Vera Andrus


Vera Andrus (1907–1979) was an American artist known for her delicate watercolors and prints that often captured architectural and landscape subjects with lyrical precision. Born in Minnesota, she studied at the Minneapolis School of Art and later at the Art Students League in New York. Andrus spent significant time in Rockport, Massachusetts, where the coastal scenery inspired much of her work and deepened her exploration of light and atmosphere. She exhibited widely, including at the National Academy of Design, and was a member of several artist organizations. Her art remains admired for its refined technique and quiet elegance, reflecting a deep sensitivity to place and detail.
