Paul Rohland
Paul Rohland (1884–1949) was an American painter, printmaker, and muralist celebrated for his vibrant landscapes, floral still lifes, and regional scenes. Born in Richmond, Virginia, he trained under Robert Henri at the Art Students League in New York. Rohland was active in the Woodstock art community and exhibited in prestigious venues, including the Whitney Museum’s first Biennial. During the 1930s, he completed murals for the Treasury Department’s Section of Fine Arts, depicting regional themes. Later, he lived and painted in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Sierra Madre, California, until he died in 1949.
