Hezekiah Anthony Dyer
Hezekiah Anthony Dyer (1872–1943) was a Providence-born landscape painter and watercolorist celebrated for his evocative European vistas and New England scenes. A Brown University and RISD alumnus, Dyer lectured at both institutions and spent extended periods painting abroad in France, Italy, Holland, and Germany, capturing alpine views, coastal settings, and market life. He was a driving force in the regional art community, serving as president of both the Providence Art Club and the Providence Watercolor Club, and was also affiliated with the Boston Society of Watercolor Painters, the American Federation of Arts, and the Newport Art Association. His work is held in the collections of institutions such as the Corcoran Gallery and RISD, and continues to attract collectors for its European and coastal charm.
