Erhard Amadeus-Dier


Erhard Amadeus-Dier (1893–1969) was an Austrian painter, graphic artist, illustrator, and designer. Born in Vienna, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and began his career as an illustrator. He produced designs for Austrian banknotes, tapestries, wallpapers, church windows, and porcelain, while also painting portraits and other subjects. A member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus from 1921, he remained active in Austrian art throughout his career. He is also noted for his involvement in the Austrian resistance during the Nazi period.
